Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Mountain View public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Public Transit Suspension
Mountain View's free city shuttles are out of commission until Wednesday, meaning you'll need to scramble for a backup ride to get across town. If you usually rely on these shuttles for your commute or errands, you'll have to pay out of pocket for rideshare or find another way to travel.
Traffic Restriction
Mountain View is permanently closing the Castro Street Caltrain crossing to cars, which means you'll need to find a new route if you normally drive through downtown. It's a big shift for local traffic patterns, so expect some growing pains as everyone adjusts.
Road Construction
Mountain View just started a project to shrink the number of lanes on California Street. If you commute through there regularly, expect some annoying traffic delays while crews get to work.
